What’s included
What happens during a dash cam install?
Plan the mounts
We choose the camera positions with you, usually tucked behind the mirror and out of your line of sight.
Mount the cameras
The front camera goes on the windshield behind the mirror; a rear camera goes at the top of the rear glass.
Hide every wire
Cables are routed through the headliner and pillar trim, so nothing hangs across the dash.
Hardwire the power
The camera is wired to the fuse box so it turns on and off with the car. Add a battery pack for parking mode.
Test and hand over
We check that every camera records, set up the phone app, and show you how to save and view footage.
Battery packs & parking mode
Do I need a battery pack for my dash cam?
Only if you want it to record while the car is parked. A standard hardwire install turns the camera on and off with the car. For continuous recording while parked, we recommend an external battery pack, which adds +$150–$200 to the install. It powers the camera instead of your car, which prevents parasitic draw on the car battery.
Standard hardwire
Records while you drive. The camera turns on and off with the car. Included in the $250–$300 front or $350–$500 front + rear price.
With a battery pack · +$150–$200
Keeps the camera recording while the car is parked, without drawing power from your car battery.

FAQ
Dash cam installation questions
How long does a dash cam installation take?
Most dash cam installs take about 2–4 hours. A front-only camera is at the quicker end. Front and rear cameras, or adding an external battery pack, take longer because there is more wiring to route and hide. We work at your home or office, so you can get on with your day.
Will a hardwired dash cam drain my car battery?
A standard hardwire install turns the camera on and off with the car, so it does not run while the car is off. If you want continuous recording while parked, we recommend an external battery pack. It powers the camera instead of your car, which prevents parasitic draw on the car battery.
How much does dash cam installation cost in the Bay Area?
A hardwired front dash cam costs $250–$300 installed, and a front + rear system costs $350–$500. An external battery for parking-mode recording adds $150–$200. These are typical OE Plus prices, updated November 2026. We confirm the exact price for your car before booking.
Can a digital rear-view mirror work as a dash cam?
Yes. A digital rear-view mirror can double as a dash camera. It replaces your mirror with a screen that shows the rear camera view and records footage, so one device does the job of a mirror and a dash cam. Text us your car’s year, make and model and we will tell you what fits.
Does installing a dash cam affect my car warranty?
No. Installing a dash cam does not affect your vehicle’s warranty. We never splice, cut or modify any factory wiring or parts, and all of the equipment and wiring can be removed later, leaving your car exactly as it was before.
