FAQ
Backup camera installation questions
How much does backup camera installation cost in the Bay Area?
A backup camera costs $300–$500 installed at your home or office. The price depends on your car and where the picture will show: your car’s screen, a new stereo, or a mirror with a built-in monitor. These are typical OE Plus prices, updated November 2026. We confirm the exact price before booking.
Can you add a backup camera to a car with no screen?
Yes. If your car has no factory screen, we can often swap your rear-view mirror for one with a built-in monitor. The camera picture shows in the mirror when you reverse, so you get a backup camera without changing your dashboard. Text us your car’s year, make and model to check.
Can a digital rear-view mirror work as a dash cam?
Yes. A digital rear-view mirror can double as a dash camera. It replaces your mirror with a screen that shows the rear camera view and records footage, so one device does the job of a backup camera display, a mirror and a dash cam. We confirm what fits your car before booking.
How long does a backup camera install take?
Most backup camera installs take about 1–3 hours. The time depends on where the picture will show: on your existing stereo, on a new aftermarket stereo we install, or on a replacement rear-view mirror with a built-in monitor. Text us your car and setup, and we’ll tell you what to expect.
Does installing a backup camera affect my car warranty?
No. Installing a backup camera does not affect your vehicle’s warranty. We never splice, cut or modify any factory wiring or parts, and all of the equipment and wiring can be removed later, leaving your car exactly as it was before.
